First day of fall at Lake Michigan

Some images from Oval Beach on Saturday, Sept. 22, the first day of fall.

You can see the wooden pilings of the old piers that were replaced in the early 1900s with the current piers — the waves are hitting the breakwaters with the red and green markers. Holland's Big Red lighthouse is visible as are the smokestacks from the J.H. Campbell power plant in Port Sheldon.
