Dutchers Open at Home

The bleachers were full and fans lined the fences at Beery Field on Saturday afternoon, June 30, as the Douglas Dutchers Vintage Base Ball Club made its first home appearance for the season.

The team took on the Wyandotte Stars Base Ball Club.

After playing in Holland during Tulip Time, the team has been traveling to other fields, including games on Mackinac Island and Huntington, Ind. The team will be back in town for the July 4th parade in Saugatuck at 2 p.m. but won’t play at Beery Field until 2 p.m. July 28 against the House of David Base Ball Club. The team is at home the next two weeks — Aug. 4 against the South Haven Bark Peelers Base Ball Club and Aug. 11 facing the Paw Paw Corkers Base Ball Club.
